Sarah: I have my sketch layer, line art layer, and color layer. If I continue to keep it simple, this piece should be easy.

This is so relatable. I remember when I first started using SAI I was incredibly confused about the use of layers conceptually. I didn’t even know you could move layers around so I used to spend a lot of time pre-planning which layer would go on top of which. And it was like I couldn’t find anyone or anything online that would explain layers conceptually without assuming that you already understood a bunch of things about them, which made them useless to me. The one thing I took home from it to this day is always label your layers or else you’d be extra confused, but that can be tedious
