Transcript:
Peppermint Patty and Charlie Brown are walking. Peppermint Patty says, "There are a lot of things I don't understand.."<BR><BR> They sit on the ground, leaning against opposite sides of a tree. Charlie Brown faces front, Peppermint Patty is barely visible. She says, "Worse yet, it's hard to find someone you can really talk to.."<BR><BR> Now they are both in profile. Peppermint Patty says, "Tell me what love is, Chuck." Charlie Brown begins, "Well, years ago my Dad owned a black, 1934, two-door sedan.."<BR><BR> They are silhouetted in this panel. "What's that got to do with love?" Peppermint Patty demands. "Well, this is what he told me... There was this real cute girl, see.."<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty sits up and turns to face Charlie Brown. He opens his arms: "She used to go for rides with him in his car, and whenever he called for her, he would always hold open the car door for her..."<BR><BR> They face each other. Charlie Brown says, "After she got in and he had closed the door, he'd walk around the back of the car to the driver's side, but before he could get there, she would reach over and press the button down locking him out.."<BR><BR> "Then she's just sit there and wrinkle her nose, and grin at him...that's what I think love is.."<BR><BR> They both sit back in their former positions. Peppermint Patty says, "Sometimes I wonder about you, Chuck." Charlie Brown sighs.<BR><BR>

In those days they didn’t have power locks, so they had to use a button which acted as a switch to lock the car door.
