I started creating a text editor in Basic one evening. The code was flowing, I was in the groove, and it was gooood. Somewhere about 3am I stopped. It was awesome, and I was ready to turn in. I stopped, smiled, put my hands behind my head, leaned back and stretched; that was when the power blinked out. It was only out a second, but I was staring at a blank screen. The code was flowing and I couldn’t bear to take a break to save it (on cassette tape). I just stared at the blank screen a few minutes, then went to bed.

My entire operating system was on a 640K floppy. Life was so simple then.
