Fancy Lucy knowing that about the desert, that it gets cold at night. I’m referring to this one Charlie Brown book of science(these books were more or less a series, hardback, published in late 1970s), which taught us that, strange though it may sound, the sands of the desert actually grow cold, practically every night. Lucy was shown nearby, leaning on Schroeder’s piano, begging him to come back, and promise to “love her till the sands of the deserts grow cold,” which you could tell, was supposed to mean “forever,” and THAT was when it went on to demonstrate, that again, strange but true, the sands of the desert actually DO grow cold, almost every night. This is due to the fact that there are almost no clouds in the desert during the day(which, as we know, help keep the grounds warm, much the way a hat keeps your head warm), thus, the desert ground can only stay warm during the day, when it is warm, THUS, once sunset is past, PFFT! the heat on the grounds is gone. Interesting fact; unbelievable though it may sound to children, it’s nevertheless true.
