4 × 4 = 16, and as for 44 × 44, the answer is 1,936. But then, that’s Peppermint Patty for you, just her way of “mixing business with pleasure,” by taking it to an ASININE level.

Since “four-forty” is a short way of saying ‘four hundred and forty’, is “four-forty forty-four” written like this: 484 (which is 440+44), this: 44044, or this: 4444 (just based on her previous answer thinking that “times” means ‘concatenate’)?

A few years ahead of Paul Simon’s When Numbers Get Serious (1983):

    Two times two is twenty-two

    Four times four is forty-four

    When numbers get serious

They leave a mark on your door
