First time I saw this strip, I thought the Great Pumpkin actually was coming, in Panel 6; now of course, I know it was just a "rehearsal"so Snoopy would know what to do, the very next night. We all know this “Great Pumpkin” was supposed to be “the Santa Claus of Halloween”, in fact, before Schulz stopped production on Peanuts, I even used to wonder if Schulz WOULD FINALLY draw the Great Pumpkin coming, on Halloween night, for Linus’ sake, so he would have justice done, for himself and his INFAMOUS WILD TALE.
