Linus walks with Sally. Sally says, "Now if some kid comes up, and starts asking about a ruler, you hold him off . . ."<BR><BR> Linus asks, "Hold him off?" Sally says, "Yes, you hold him off while I run for it!"<BR><BR> Linus asks, "What if he tries to hit me?" Sally says, "Reason with him."<BR><BR> Sally continues, "Tell him his stupid ruler wouldn't have been any good after we switched to metrics, anyway!"<BR><BR>

Well, even if there was no point in the kid’s using the ruler for homework, Sally, as metrics were now in use, still, it WAS his property, and important to him, if not to you or anyone else.
