John Stossell found out otherwise. He interviewed restaurant owners near a welfare office who all said they had a hard time finding people to hire. He then talked to some of the welfare recipients who said basically “Why should I work and get $200 a week …” (I’m making the actual figure up) “… when I can do nothing and get $150 a week?”

Many small, family-owned, restaurants are cutting back their hours because they can’t find people who want to work.
