This creates a hazardous landing site for Santa’s sled, however on the flip side improved access to the home. The chimney was always a little too snug for Santa.
One time, when I was a teenager, my dad was decorating. We had a light-up Santa, about 3-ft. tall. Santa usually stood on the front porch, but this particular year, Dad decided to put Santa on the roof. My younger brother & I were watching TV, and we saw Dad drop down past the living room window. He came in, holding his awkwardly-bent wrist. My mom was freaking out & was getting ready to take him to the hospital. I looked at my dad & just started laughing. My brother soon joined. Dad got it & started laughing, too! Mom was just about ready to kill all of us: “What is so funny???” I asked her, “Mom, what did you do right before Dad started?” She said that she “touched up” Santa. I asked her what she used: Lipstick. Dad had lipstick on his [coat] collar! She still wasn’t amused.

Time to make three phone calls: a medic for Jon, a repairman for the roof, and a professional decoration put-upper.

Unlike Clark Griswold, his father never taught him “everything he knows” about exterior illumination.

Somebody needs to call Liz and get her to help put up the tree and decorations.
