Charlie Brown looks at the paper and asks, "Do you think an ink eraser would help?"<BR><BR> Sally replies, "How about a lighted match?"<BR><BR>

You’d think that by 1979 ball point pens had already become far cheaper and more ubiquitous than they were in the 1950s when he last tried to use a pen to write to his pal. I remember having ball points that smudged and skipped at times in the early eighties, but nothing like what you see in panel 1!
