Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for November 25, 2019

I know what the lead story on the evening news was that night.

Bill Watterson was originally going to have this be a much longer story arc of Calvin slowly growing bigger and bigger each strip, before deciding to wrap it up a lot faster since it was just being weird for weirdness sake.

can you not get any bigger, Calvin?

Couldn’t bring giant Hobbes into the picture, could you Calvin?

For all the weird and crazy stuff you do to Hobbes, Mom & Dad, Susie and Rosalyn, you still are a good kid and can enjoy the awe that life gives you.

Somehow, I suspect that Calvin’s homework is not getting done.

He could get a job at NASA launching satellites and spaceships. Pick it up and throw it.

Well, you wanted to grow up fast, Calvin…

I dunno. The may be getting a little thin up there. Remember the ionosphere? Of course, Spaceman Spiff seems to have no trouble with the atmospheres of the sundry planets he crashes on.

He reaches heaven!!

…as long as you’re up there, nip over to Japan, and get even with them for Godzilla…

A whole new way to stargaze. Might as well enjoy the view, Calvin!

And yet, even at that size, you’re an insignificant dot in the vastness of the universe. May as well get back to your homework, particularly if your brain power has increased in proportion to the rest of you.

Anyone else get the feeling that Calvin’s about to wake up in class without his homework.

Calvin the Colossus!

The 1960s, LSD (I never knew anyone that did acid, but it’d be interesting to talk to them now).

Many times this theme is too ridiculous to carry on for days. One day is quite enough.

Run Calvin! Run! If you lap the Earth fast enough, you can turn back time!

At last Calvin is growing up.

I know this is in imagination, but I’m sure Calvin would have caused a lot of tsunamis if he stepped out into the ocean.

Watterson once again proves he’s an incredible artist.

And then he ran out of air. Of course, that was before he used up all the oxygen on Earth and killed out the entire population.

The tiger was the first to go.

mwahahahahaaaa….

Calvin is destined to leave a big, lasting IMPRESSION where ever he goes!

For my part, I really hate when this happens (my shorts ride up).

Like the song “The Cockroach That Ate Cincinnati,” though more like “The Kid Who Stomped Cleveland.”

Good, get him off this planet!!

Calvin has a vivid imagination. I love it.

I love the last picture in this. It always reminds me how f the cover of the beautiful book The Little Prince.

This psychosis is truly terrifying. What next, is he going to encompass the solar system?
