Well, she’s not really attached to the building anymore. Is that progress? I wouldn’t want to be in her position, even with Tracy coming up the stairs.
P. 3 is illusory as a quick glance will indicate her position as being much more precarious than what it actually is, not that being on a ledge that high up is a picnic except for the aerial bats who would be having big thrills.
Just like Polly Purebred being left tied to the railroad tracks by evil villian Snidely Whiplash, waiting for that Canadian Mounty hero Dudley Doright, to come to the rescue in the nick of time.
I flopped down in my easy chair and turned on channel 2A bad gunslinger called Salty Sam was a-chasin’ poor sweet SueHe trapped her in the old sawmill and said with an evil laugh“If you don’t give me the deed to your ranch, I’ll saw you all in half”
1-DELIRIOUS PRIMM: POP? Did I just pull a hammie? Or is my plan to curl this massive HVAC unit over my head and into the street working?
2-DT: “EEEE?” Was that a rat? I’m not going up there! Those things go for the jugular when they’re threatened.
3-PRIMM: Oops. I didn’t properly apply the Mass times Force formula when I considered this plan. At least my death will be as epic as Sherlock Holmes tumble into Reichenback Falls. WAIT! HE DIDN’T ACTUALLY DIE THERE (spoiler alert)! I see a spot of blue down there. It could be a lake! I’ll aim for that! I’m saved! Take that Moriarity or whoever it was who put me in this predicament…
since she has the old style wrist radio in her pocket all she has to do is yell “Hold everything” and the action around here will freeze until she can talk to Dick Tracy, and she wont start falling again until he says, “six-two even, over and out” which will give everyone else time to get the rescue net etc set up
If you go back to last Saturday and read this week’s strips in one sitting (the way I read Tracy when he was being reprinted in Harvey Comic Books) , not counting last Sunday’s wasted strip, this actually reads pretty fast, and believable. We go back and forth between Tracy (first at HQ, then on the scene) and Frisk trying to help herself. It really reads like something Gould might have written and drawn.
Love the Coasters “Along Came Jones” reference above. Well, as long as there isn’t a Munsters interlude tomorrow, this may be interesting. But with these guys, Who Knows? Stay tuned
But with the screws popped at her left side, that bar on the HVAC isn’t going to hang in much longer, and she is squirming on a slippery ledge (and, remember, she has vertigo). Realistically, her chances of survival are not good.
But this is a 21st century PCed Dick Tracy, and it seems likely in that light that Tracy will get to the roof and effect a dramatic rescue.
Then, Frisk will need to explain to Tracy as much as she knows about what happened to her (“Mom stuck me with a syringe full of drugs at the Patterson”) and, somehow, Tracy and she will deduce from that that the Howells are behind it all. Then, the final pursuit will commence. Will it end in a fatal shootout? Or with arrests? Will the baby-selling racket be cracked? Is Lizz related to anyone we’ve met?

Someone called it about the handle breaking.

Decades ago – likely during Max Allan Collins’ run – there was a week of strips which chronicled Tracy falling from a great height.
I’m thinking maybe mid-eighties or so? ✨

You know Tracy is going to reach the roof in time to grab her just as she’s slipping off the ledge – That’s what the hero of the series does…

Would the story benefit from the unexpected; Tracy doesn’t make it on time?
Yes or no.

Frisk is hanging on by a few bolts and hinges, will Tracy get there in time???

It’s not the fall, but the sudden stop that tells the tale!
