The city of San Juan Capistrano is in Orange County, California, named for the Spanish Mission that was established there in 1776. The city is famous for the cliff swallows, which return there annually around St. Joseph’s Day, March 19.

Apparently in 2009, the swallows stopped nesting at the Mission for some reason, so members of the Mission asked Dr. Charles Brown, a biologist from the University of Tulsa to study what happened to them and to try to get them to return. They finally returned to the city in 2018 thanks to this.

So Charlie Brown grows up, and gets a doctorate in avian biology from the University of Tulsa, and perhaps at Woodstock’s urging, figures out how to get the swallows to return?
