Someone keep that idiot kid AWAY from the well… or the old abandoned mine…or the cliff… or WHATEVER!! Put him on a leash, not the dog!

This is kind of why there are no TV shows about heroic cats for that matter. If it was my own cat Laptop he would have told him, “That your problem! Call 911! What do you think I am, that dumb mutt Lassie? Cats don’t do rescue missions much like the Klingons don’t! HISS!”

This is when Rover is grateful he has Red as his boy and not someone like Timmy!

Rover knows! I don’t ever remember Lassie having to be coaxed into going for help! (Used to watch those shows first run on black and white!)

I had a horse when I was a kid. When I was in college, my room mate and I were watching a Western series on TV. Yes, this was ancient times. A scene where the barn catches on fire and all the horses were screaming came on, and I started laughing. My friend was shocked because I loved horses and stated more than once that a barn fire is a horseperson’s worst nightmare. I explained that the horses weren’t terrified. They were annoyed about breakfast being late. The horse version of “Feed me! FEED ME NOW!”

Having only joined in reading this Cartoon in the past year, this is the first strip For me that confirms that Red can Read the mind of Rover and knows what he is thinking!

Strange as it may seem; Timmy did fall in the following (a partial list): two lakes, a gap between two railroad cars, two abandoned mines, quicksand, and a badger hole. But he didn’t fall into any wells. Now Lassie herself, did fall into a well in the season 17.

I never watched the Lassie versio with that kid Timmy. It was Lassie and the Ranger. Boy was it boring!
