    YOUR GUY, Ramirez!

Are you just discovering the national debt being bloated by Trump and Moscow Mitch as a Hallowe’en phenomenon?

Like a costume you can take back off once you get some candy?

The label on the scythe should be “Tax Cuts for Higher Incomes.” The myth that tax cuts pay for themselves has proved to be the linchpin in massive structural increases in federal deficits and the national debt. Elizabeth Warren’s programs are closer to being self-financing than supply side tax cuts, because they would support sustained economic growth rather than transient sugar highs. Refundable payroll tax credits (which don’t affect the Social Security trust fund balance) provide the most effective economic stimulus.

Oh, look! Conservatives have rediscovered fiscal responsibility. How convenient, a couple of years after corporate giveaways that blew up the debt while not benefiting the middle class. Who could have known? And in case you haven’t been keeping up, Ramirez, the walls are closing in on trump. You may want to plot how you’ll remove your lips from his posterior.

Republicans ALWAYS increase the national debt. They only express concern about it when a Democrat is president,

But Trump promised to get rid of the debt—that the tax cut for the rich would take care of it. What happened?

The above comments, all against Trump, show the basic problem. ANYONE who tries to cut spending will be voted out of office! Remember the little old lady in the wheelchair being pushed of the cliff in the TV ads? Until there is some BIPARTISAN support for spending cuts nothing will happen, and what are the chances of ANYTHING bipartisan happening in Washington will IMPEACH and RESISTANCE is happening? And if the spend-happy Democrats win the Presidency the trend will get even worse!

I guess Moscow Mitch will have to end Medicare and Social Security to pay for the trillions that Republicans borrowed from China to give to the Republican Donor Class in the form of tax breaks.

If you really want to get into it, and if we adjust for constant dollar value to level the playing field, then FDR and Johnson are way ahead of Trump. But keep in mind many nation-states run deficits at times. It is a useful tool, but you have to keep an Eagle eye out for inflation. Been there done that, don’t want to go back.

Hats off to Ramirez for being a Right Wing cartoonist and pointing out faults of the Right Wing government. If only more of our cartoonists could do that.

Note that this goes for the Left too… not enough of them called Obama out for all the drone strikes, which went against typical “Left” values.

WE NEED MORE TAX CUTS! The success of trickle down is just around the corner, it’s just that rates on the wealthy and corporations are still too high.

The problem with the budget has always been guns or butter even though Democrat presidents are constitutionally responsible for national defense as well. Democrats seem to believe we are still protected by two oceans in spite of the fact bad guys have the same aerial stuff anymore we do and of course druggists and other bad guys pass through the southern border like it wasn’t even there. Trump still thinks we need to at least keep stay up with what the Russians, Chinese, Iran and others are up to and spend what is necessary to do that and Democrats have no intention of giving up any free stuff programs, thereby the national debt problem. Once The Democrats regain power the only new military stuff designed to obliterate large chunks of land will come from them not us. Even if we completely eliminated the Defense department there won’t be enough “other people’s money” plus whoever is still willing to lend us to pay for all the free stuff Bernie, Liz, el al have in mind. Buckle your seat belts it’s gonna be a rough ride.

I am having trouble believing my lyin’ eyes: It looks Mr. Ramirez has drawn a caricature of Mr. Trump as a floozy portrait behind a bar. The text balloon is barely hiding the face. Even worse: The elephant is shown as the pachyderm of death. …… Who is holding the murderous scythe of (Gasp) SPENDING!!! And, not a democrat in view. Where, oh where is the reliably hard Republican Ramirez?

Why is it that when conservative commentators are left with nothing to say they always fall back on the deficit. But then room Ramirez screwed up. He’s blaming the right people for that deficit.

Amazing. Amidst all the impeachment depositions, I’m glad to see some cartoonists today are finally acknowledging the economic crisis the GOP had been complicit.

With things looking grim for Trump, notice how today some of the right wing cartoonists have fallen back on “debt bad”. Too bad they were basically silent during the Bush years…

That’s the second right-wing cartoonist who’s mentioning the debt in the context of Halloween. It’s almost as if they don’t realize that it’s their side that is mostly at fault for the problem.

Trump mentioned the national debt only once during his campaign, and even then it was just to say that it was horribly huge. He (and Congress) have done absolutely nothing about it.
