I’m reminded of an episode of The Andy Griffith Show. A farmer (pre-Gilligan’s Island Alan Hale, Jr., but using the term “little buddy” in addressing Barney) falls for Barney’s girl, Thelma Lou. One way she and Andy contrive to drive him away is by serving him cucumber finger sandwiches. He praises them as, “Mighty tasty. Sure whets my appetite for supper.” She replies, “Silly! That was supper.” Never saw a man head for the hills so fast.

Go have some cereal or a PB&J sandwich – that should help.

It could be a fine meal in itself, it all depends on portion sizes. I feel like what Betty served could have been a meal for one, but not for two.
