Wouldn’t surprise me. Only the most gullible would believe they have the DNA of some royalty from 500 years ago (or even a hundred). Yes, I know if they have access to some part of a person who lived many years ago, they may find a shared chromosome. But them having access to that DNA (even that from some known descendant), is very, very remote.
Check out ”Marmaduke” from 13 November 2019. Guess that cartoonists are also getting those pop-up ads for the various DNA testing services…the perfect holiday gift (?) !

Even if they’re still alive and the judge is forcing them, you’ll never get your hands on their DNA. Just ask Delphine Boël.

When I’m not wearing my crown I hang it next to my coat of arms. (DNA proves there’s one born every minute.)

DNA testing proves more than ancestry…it’s proof that Grannies lie.

Used to be a company in Bath, Ohio, that did something similar with coats of arms. They may still be at it.

If you go back enough generations, everyone is likely descended from some kind of royalty.
