Soccer ball: Soccer is tougher on the ball than football. Football: Give me a break... Soccer ball: Like you don't get enough breaks. In football, the breaks last longer than the plays, and after each play the ref cleans you with a towel before he gently sets you down on the grass. You hardly ever get kicked. Most of the time some player is trying to protect you. Not very tough. And there's that whole lace thing... Football: Laces...not lace!

Someone did a term paper a few years ago and found that in a normal American football game, actual plays consumed 11 minutes. The rest of the hour was spent moving chains, conferring in huddles and patting each other on the butt. I kid you not.

I think they both last equally as long if you clean them after every game and keep them inflated.

Actually there is only one lace, so soccer ball was correct. Also Calvin and Hobbes had it right, f you want golf to appeal to younger players, make it a contact sport!

I remember my son telling me that football players considered soccer players “grass fairies” because they don’t have contact. Soccer has a lot of contact, way more than you think, and the fact that the action is continuous there’s more contact possibly than in football. Football isn’t really a contact sport, it should be considered a “collision” sport
