Gary: Hey, coach, I think this is the wrong field. The other team is obviously older boys. Look how big they are. Nordling: A scheduling mix-up. Our opponents are probably on another field right now looking at these guys' opponents. These things just happen on the first day of the season. I'll go talk to the other coach. Gary: I hope we get to stay on this field. I already have my stuff set up in a nice, shady spot. Nordling: It's a scheduling problem, all right. For us. These ARE our opponents. Jack: They're our age?! Gary: Did you check their driver's licenses?

When I helping coach my son’s soccer team one opponent was the “Sharks” complete with a big banner and three cute little cheerleaders. We lost, and I wondered what corporation was backing them.

It’s called playing up. A good team plays in an older age bracket to give them competition.
