This is my absolute favourite Peanuts strip. It’s so deep, so quirky, so haunting, so amusing, so heartbreaking. You can really feel the pain of Spike’s loneliness as he sits all by himself in the middle of the desert at night and thinks about video games. It makes you want to laugh and cry at one and the same time. He’s so loveable with that pathetic expression of his, and his despondent comment in the fourth panel is sublimely poignant. Best strip ever!
