Of course, FOOD and MEDICINE should be exempted from sales taxes. When dishonest imbecile Sam Brownback nearly bankrupted the state of Kansas by his huge increase in corporate welfare and other welfare for the rich, there was a huge increase in sales tax (always regressive, of course) in order to PREVENT bankruptcy. And, yes, food and medicine taxed as much as elective items. Then, later, his huge tax cuts for the rich had to be rolled back, anyway…..

Why we pay sales tax is ridiculous compared to paying taxes on EVERYTHING ELSE! WE ARE TAXED TO DEATH, YES, EVEN A DEATH TAX…..1% reap the benefits…..
