An old joke. But you know, I’ve played golf for over 60 years; and the worst I ever heard was an agonized “N-o-o-o-o”." Wrong class of people/birds, I guess.
I do believe that GOLF is a four-letter-word.
So watch what you say. There might be children or little old ladies present.
It’s an anagram for “flog,” which means to strike repeatedly as if beating.
