While watching Perry Mason as an adult, and after spending twenty some years working with attorneys, I realize many of the things he did in and out of the courtroom would result in a mistrial or his being disbarred.
My husband’s a police chief with 40+ years of law enforcement experience and sometimes he cringes at the “artistic license” of cop shows. Even when the shows have paid consultants, the writers script a lot of events that wouldn’t survive judicial scrutiny.
