Upon going to the Louvre, it was a surprise to see how SMALL this painting is. And hard to get close up among the throng of tourists, so almost impossible to closely inspect it. It’s also under glass, of course.
This is not far from the truth! The painting is very small and the Multiple rows of people is incredible to see it! Can’t even get close if you wanted to…..
There is a new Nova documentary, “Decoding da Vinci” that was shown on PBS on 13 November (at least in the Denver, CO area) that analyzes his painting techniques, including the Mona Lisa.
