If she’s trying to teach the names of the harmonies, the C and the D are part of another C chord. The E and the F are actually in the “key” of F. The A in the melody (if sung in the key of C) is the third of the chord, which is a IV chord. And the G is the fifth of another C chord. The harmony is I-I-IV-I. What she’s wound up doing is just saying the notes in the melody – C, C, G, G, A, A, G. I think maybe she’s trying to say which keys of the piano play the melody, but no wonder the kid is confused. Her musical jargon is incorrect.
You could say "The A and the B are each the note C, (not “key of”) the C and the D are each the note G, the E and the F are each the note A, and the G is the note G." It’s still a confusing way to think about it.

Actually ‘key of’ refers to a specific scale, I think what was meant was “A and B are C, C and D are G…”
