My nephew – I’m not sure at what (teen) age – fell in love with heavy metal music. He’s 40+ now, and his tastes have not changed. He used to swear that he needed it on in the background to go to sleep. I don’t know if he still does that.
This explains why his alarm clock won’t wake him up. While sleeping, his subconscious incorporates into his dream of performing in a Heavy Metal rock band (been there, done that).
