Tarzan: “An insurance investigator, travelling alone through the jungle, in search of missing bullion”?
>thinks to himsel “seems legitimate, and he does have papers”>
“Okay Mr. Rooke, I just happened to see a boat loaded with silver bullion over in that lagoon.”
“By the way I hope you have scuba gear in your pocket, that water is deep.”
“Oh, I forgot to mention; the boat is guarded by a giant octopus that the local natives consider a god.)
That’s strange, happened to me too. I was walking around almost naked, I met a guy, I asked him who he was, and he showed me his passport! Is that weird or what?
So, who taught jungle ape boy to read?
I guess that’s shrewdly and not shrendly. I thought the author must have learned a new word; like shrewd, but friendly = shrendly.
Inspector Clayton has broad legal powers in Africa, from asking questions to penalty (usually death).
So I’m guessing Cross killed Rooke and stole his identification papers.
Tarzan, when you gonna learn, shoot first, question later.
An insurance agent? You know you can’t trust them!
Tarzan asked gruffly, and Cross answered shrewdly. I read numbly. Moving right along…
“An insurance agent traveling through the jungle in search of silver bullion,” thinks Tarzan. “Not another one!”
Were it bouillon instead of bullion, it would be a job for Souperman.
