This may be the first ever time we actually hear an adult talking in a Peanuts strip…

I think there might have been a strip where the ticket taker said something while Snoopy was in line to see a movie. Another possibility is when Lucy was in a golf tournament.

The adult talking strips I remember are Snoopy getting Halloween candy and the people saying it was a kid in a dog outfit and Lucy’s mom telling her to share her toys with Linus. I’m sure there’s more.

I fell bad for Linus when the man finds out he’s been cheated.

There’s a strip (August 29, 1965) with Grandma van Pelt where Linus manages to predict exactly what she is going to say (“every day is children’s day”). But this is probably the most we might ever see adults say in the strip.

Estelle is one of the few adults in Peanuts universe whose first name we know. The others are Joe Shlabotnik and Helen Sweetstory (and Bill Mauldin, if he counts as a character.)
