In 1989, three years after this strip was published, Snoopy called Charlie Brown by his name while having lunch with the Unnamed Ponytailed Girl (who thinks Snoopy is Charlie Brown). He thought in one panel, “I’m not Charlie Brown, I’m just a dog.”
