It has been a fascinating review of the origins of Sunday Comics. So many times the “humor” was difficult to understand, but amazing that back-in-the-day folks got it.

In the 1930s there was a stack of old comics such as these in the farmhouse attic which I greatly enjoyed as a child. This go comic page gave me a much enjoyed chance to revisit such art. I used some examples for teaching visual communication at a major university.

It’d be nice to have a complete run of the Kin-Der-Kids, or anything by Feininger.

In 2022 Peter Maresca partnered with Fantagraphics. I don’t know if we’ll see him again on Gocomics

I wish they would restart this strip.
