And Elvis continues to be hilarious! I’m so grateful right now; I’ve been having one of my usual depressive episodes and I really appreciate how much this little comic makes me smile. Thank you so much, Georgia!
Elvis is so brave! If I had seen SOME STUFF, I’d be outta there so fast. I’m a fan of John Carpenter’s work and other movies of that ilk so I know WHAT CAN HAPPEN.
Presumably she is resting and recuperating in isolation in the office. Puck was helping to entertain her so I imagine he goes back and forth between the tree report and checking in on her.
Hey Georgia. I’ve never written before but I must note that your homage to The Thing is really remarkable given 1) your age (too young!) 2) your gender (is that sexist?) and 3) your general vibe (insightful/cute/emotional) bias against being into a classic sci-fi/horror classic. Love the strip!

Okay, NEVER seen a tree stand like that one in the last panel. Looks like the ones we used to have when I was a kid placed into “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” in place of the chair Snoopy fought.
I once had a field-cut white pine at Christmastime that had a sizable gap midway up. So I cut out the gap and doweled the two halves back together. Looked lovely!

Have they noticed it doesn’t smell like a tree? Do they even know what trees smell like?

Is this a reference to The Thing? What a creepy classic. Only way to test for The Thing is to use fire.

Carpenter’s tree? The one that ended up as furniture?

Why wouldn’t pine trees come apart and be reassembled? And watch out for that tree base, Elvis. Get on the wrong side of that and you’re doomed.

You can not be too careful around tree bases. Who bu a cat knows what they get up to?

I wonder how people with dog in their house deal with a tree inside their house.

In real life Elvis is too busy with the cat treats to worry about Christmas Trees:
