Growing up we had our live fir and cedar trees outside to decorate. During years when had one inside it was eventually cut up and saved to use later in the wood and charcoal grill.
My entire family (except me) is alergic to the odor/oil of pine trees. One year I insisted on a live tree, and everyone was sick for weeks. No more live trees in this house. I’m surprised I don’t hear about this more often.
I have an artificial tree and prefer it. I can’t stand the smell of pine and I would hate having to take care of a “live” tree. Disposal of such would also be a hassle since we live in a condo and can’t just throw it out at the curb for trash pick-up. lol
Apparently, the Sansom’s are not loggers. Fir and pine are two different species of trees. A fir tree can not make your house smell of pine. But who cares, still one of my fav comics. Keep up the good work.

My childhood faux fur always had a faint smell of moth balls and mold. Ah, memories.

With real trees the fun comes when it’s time to take the tree down.

A “fir” smells like a fir.. a “pine” smell like a pine… spruce.. cedars etc all have their own smells. Don’t be trying to confuse the city folk.

But you can use the same tree next year and the year after that. You want pine smell, hang pine scent air fresheners on it.

I have a Frasier fir. It smells like tossed salads and scrambled eggs.

Be of good cheer, Brutus – it’s far from the worst thing a house can smell like…
