Like Qiset, I also want the junk phone calls to stop – especially the ones in Chinese. I neither speak, nor understand, a syllable of Chinese, but get sometimes 10 or more per week. They switch phone numbers so often, the junk call detectors cannot keep up. They spoof numbers of normal, honest victims. If I use Do Not Disturb on iPhone, I don’t receive calls I need, such as the bank informing me my account was hacked. I blame laws, or lack of them, that allowed credit bureaus to exist – stealing your personal data and then selling it, and charging you to get them to stop. Isn’t that the definition of extortion – which is otherwise illegal? This just opened the door.
