Neat! Can I ask you questions concerning the nuances of german culture?
KN: Sure. go ahead.
On German TV, do the americans in Hogans heres speak German with an american accent?
Fun facts. Werner Klemperer was the son of Otto Klemperer, an orchestra conductor. Werner was an accomplished violinist. His family were Jews who managed to escape Nazi Germany. He agreed to Hogan’s Heroes only if the Nazis would be portrayed as buffoons.

How about this question: “How many of your ancestors were Nazi supporters or members of the Nationalist Socialist Party ? “

Now I’m curious. Because they do give Schulz a Bavarian accent.

Back in the 90s there was a show on German TV called Heimat Melodie (Homeland Melody) which was Hee-Haw in Lederhosen. Now that’s entertainment.

I don’t remember anybody on “Hogan’s Heroes” speaking German. Even Germans spoke English to each other.

What?!? No one with the answer? I heard years ago it just wasn’t broadcast in Germany.
