Is that Boone’s Farm vs MD 20-20? Knowing your audience ranks right up there with self awareness.

An old book I have, “Yankee Storekeeper” by R.E. Gould. Serialized in the Saturday Evening Post in 1949, going by memory. The storekeeper, up in Aroostook County, ME (awaaaay up there) was sold three casks of wine, priced as high, medium, and low. He ran out of high and medium, and so refilled all the casks with the low-priced. Someone reviewed the wine for the local paper, and the high was very good, the medium was okay but not notable, and the low-priced was undrinkable swill that shouldn’t even be sold. Meanwhile, the storekeeper personally refilled them all with the same low-priced wine. It’s a good book; I think the Amazon second-hand market has it.
