New mandatory app for cell phone, always on. Turns off phone except for 911 if moving more than 20 mile per hour. (30 kilometers per hour)

There is an art to using a turn signal. You have to signal with enough time to let the people behind you know you are shifting lanes, but not so far in advance that you give them time to close the gap and keep you from getting in.

I can’t find the clip from Denise Calls Up (1995) where they talk about having to remove her cell phone from her skull after the accident. Or the clip about the friend she was calling saying that she has the accident on her answering machine.

I’m a lifelong cyclist who has driven everything except 18-wheelers many more miles than most people ever will. Driving is not that hard, it requires a little thinking and a lot of vigilence. Most people think they are good drivers and most people are bad drivers. About 75%-80% of accidents are caused by driver error. That’s over 30,000 people a year dead because of bad drivers. I’ve often wondered how so many people can see to drive with their head up their butt.

But officer, I couldn’t put on my turn signal; had my phone in one hand and didn’t want to chance putting down my cigarette. I set the car on fire once…
