I still remember someone at the local conscientious grocery some time back, asked if he wanted paper or plastic bags, sniffed “Do you have anything that doesn’t screw up the environment?” (Of course he didn’t have his own bag) – I don’t think he got his picture on the wall.
It’s like the Free Press of the nearby city has a Jumble contest each week, disrupted by the pandemic. I’ve been entering regularly for a few years, dropping it off as a minor side trip when I drive in. Not worth mailing over the five $10 prizes and $100 main prize. Won $10 twice. Don’t need the money but I’d high five myself winning.
