I don’t remember when I stopped believing (assuming I ever did which is probable), but I remember the set of insulated underwear that told me my childhood was ending.
I still believe in Santa despite the fact that he never really brings me what I hoped for, but then again I’m not sure how he would wrap it let alone get it down the chimney!

My parents always let us believe in the magic of people loving us and wanting to make us happy, by getting us presents.

My older siblings told me when I was (I think) 6. They were probably hoping I’d cry (in which case, I disappointed them).

The year I heard my mother spill hard candy all over the kitchen floor, upstairs. Followed by very un Santa like swearing.

Santa brings, or maybe is, the Spirit of Christmas. And that is the reason we get any gifts at all.
