If you want to play toss, get a retriever. Idiots blame a dog for not retrieving and other things although it’s not part of that breed’s behavior. My golden retriever Molly grew up spending lots of time on the NC coast so she swam and retrieved in the ocean her whole life. I once saw some visitors who had a German Shepherd, and they were screaming at him because he was terrified of the water and wouldn’t fetch like Molly. I gave them a long, hard talk about dog breeds and familiarity with water.
