Wedge of lettuce and a fresh bottle of Ranch Dressing. If you’ve got the time- bacon bits, cherry tomatoes, pepper and a bottle of your best guess for a wine pairing. (Try a few just to be sure.)
The box of my last frozen pizza said the contents served 5 people. HAHAHAHAHa. A typical can of tuna went from 6 oz. to 5, but still the can label says it serves two. Drain out the oil or water, and there’s less than 3 oz of actual tuna – barely a serving for one. Then there’s the One-a-Day vitamins – the label says two are needed to give all the necessary amounts.
We tried several and were too often underwhelmed by the value. Then we discovered HelloFresh has a sister company called EveryPlate. Instead of separating the items by individual meals, all the produce and ingredients come in one big box, with the proteins sandwiched in the ice packs. Shipping is the same as with all the other services, but the meals are half the price, satisfying in quantity, not too elaborate or exotic, and only take 30-45 minutes to prepare. Have some extra potatoes & carrots handy and you can easily upsize if needed, plus the recipes are very easy to “hack” if I want to adjust them to taste or prepare differently. Great overall when you’re too busy to meal plan but still want to avoid the crap in daily take-out, and genuinely costs less too.
