These days Heathcliff allows more of his humanity to be seen than he did during the early years. He was far more subtle while daily practicing it, hiding it from all except those he gave it to. This is often true of those becoming more comfortable in their positions. While not always successful he is yet cautious of anyone or anybody taking advantage of it.
