I have a funny prediction for this arc that could likely come true:

This whole week, Nate tries so hard to prove that Mrs. Godfrey hates him before the science project is submitted, but things for once (and most likely the only time), don’t go his way.

Maybe Mrs. Godfrey isn’t in school because of being sick, or the least likely option, Mrs. Godfrey is nice to Nate and doesn’t show any signs of hating him, or something like that… The arc should end with Nate getting an F for not having a project to hand in at all or something, and perhaps, it was Mrs. Godfrey’s evil scheme all along…

Mrs. Godfrey hates Nate’s behaviour. If she were to be found out to actually hate Nate then that would be grounds for her suspension and possible further actions. But given the universe of this strip it won’t matter, Nate will lose anyway.
