I lot of the older movies were distributed in large numbers and the excess were sold cheap to get them off the shelves. If you go to used bookstores you often find a lot of bestsellers.
When our local Blockbuster shut down, and were selling off their stock at a decreasing prices, I went in to look, and apparently they couldn’t give away their copies of Howard the Duck…
When the Blockbuster near me went out of business in 2011 IIRC, I think I bought about 20 movies on DVD and got change back from a $20 bill. Well, maybe not, but it was less than $40.00.

Was he hopping it’d be — oh, I don’t know — $3.25? (I’m unfamiliar with that movie.)

By “Blockbuster”, they mean anything that’s a smash hit, not the once popular nationwide video rental store.

[With love and a smile] You know you are a plugger’s kid when … you recognize “Bullitt” as a movie instead of a possible name for a rapper.

I remember a time when the only way you could watch a movie that wasn’t new was to wait for it to show up on TV.
I remember the amazement of the notion that it was possible to play a movie anytime you wanted to (VCRs) , and could pause it
at anytime and never see commercials. it was a game changer

See what else is in there. You’ve got to ask yourself one question. Do I feel lucky? Well do you, punk?
