So apparently in his earlier days Charlie Brown had high self esteem. I guess Lucy moving into the neighborhood is what brought him down.

Actually Charlie Brown got like this because over time he started to think everyone always pick on him . And Snoppy IN 1950 CHARLIE BROWN WAS A DOG HATER. And when Lucy was introduced she was just a little kid and actually had a crush on Charlie Brown so no that’s not why.
