There’s a difference between ‘accepted’ and ‘acceptable.’

Oh, that’s the rich, mocking the poor in tattered clothes.

I saw a girl the other day at the store wearing jeans with rips all over them, she looked confused when I asked her where her tin cup was so I could put a dollar donation in it.

if you have tufts of black leg hair poking through, maybe jeans with holes in them are a bad choice

Just as I would never pay 200 dollars for a pair of sneakers, I will not drop one dime for &#*!! jeans with holes in them!

I can go to Goodwill and buy jeans that don’t have holes. To me, jeans are what you wear to mow the lawn. Jeans with heels are as sensible as wearing combat boots with your wedding dress. (Although in some marriages that might be appropriate.)

If you had paid over $100 to look that bad, it would be stylish.

Just because it’s “fashionable”, doesn’t mean it looks good. “Tatty” is tacky.

Lighten up people. By the sound of these comments you should all just go outside and tell those kids to get off your lawn.

back in the 80s we bought my step-daaughter a pair of Guess jeans she wanted. they cost $50; a lot back then. the next day she took a razor blade to them. my husband was furious. the school sent her home and had her wear tights underneath them because of where some of the slices where. last pair of Guess jeans she got from us.

Went to the big family gathering over the holidays and saw one of my teen nieces wearing torn jeans. Asked her if her dad cut her allowance. That’s why I’m considered the grumpy uncle. Which is fine by me.

no, “titty” is fashionable and, if you are lucky, you might be able to trade of that “tatty” for it.

I have never understood what’s the desire for wearing jeans with slashes or holes cut in them. Same for tops that have the shoulder area cut out.

Yeah, about that….faded “new” t-shirts, patina on cars, shabby sheik decorating, new furniture designed to look old (farm house style), recycled wood paneling, faux wood floors that look like an old barn floor…When am I going to look cool again?
