That one is actually easy.
Slide the bottom left-most horizontal toothpick over one square to the left, then take the horizontal toothpick in the middle on the top, turn it so its vertical, and complete the square with the toothpick you first slid over.

Take the two toothpicks from the second box. No rule is mentioned saying you have to use all the toothpicks, or that the boxes need to stay together.
