In a era of mods and rockers……I was a mod. The electric colors were all the rage. However being cool was not a thing…….my high school was a recently integrated high school which before was for blacks. I was one of 25 white students bussed to integrate that school which had over 1500 students. I was accepted as a brother……that meant more than cool.

When growing up, my Dad was so cool, he would not have to mention how cool he was in High School.
Also, he would have told me to remove my foot from the armrest of the chair or he would do it for me and I would not get the foot back.
In addition, he would have been nice to my girl friend and asked her if she would like some chips, since it appeared I was not sharing.

Cool is relative
Within my circle I guess I was pretty much the leader, but it was a small circle

I was – and am – so cool that I don’t think about being cool; whatever I do is, by definition, the definition of cool. So there.

It was a different kind of cool.

In high school, I was cool in a kind of ‘frozen out’ way.
Right now, I’m exactly where I want my head to be. It’s not ‘cool’, but I’m cool with that.
