And now you know where part of the art for the title banner comes from.

The old owl is made of glue, that’s why everyone calls him Hickory Sticks.

And Hickory feels likewise.

Familiarity breeds contempt.

Hickory’s not the friendliest familiar known…

Maybe Foxy is one of those magical talking foxes I have heard tell of.

And Hickory looks like he’s saying “What, like I like hanging out with you, crone?”

I’m a fan of witch cozy mysteries. (Please don’t judge me, I’ve read every Shakespeare play and sonnet and waded my way through the tale of the white whale. Not sure if using the correct name of the book will cause the auto board cleanup bots to remove my post, so we’ll call it by the more formal Moby Richard )

Anywho, one of the witch cozies I read, Starry Hollow Witches, has a witch with a raccoon named Raoul as her familiar. It’s not a match made in heaven, but I love that rascally raccoon! (I also love more substantial literature, but after college as an English Education major and the 30 years of helping reluctant readers find something to enjoy about reading, my brain deserves some leisure reading time.)

Hickory is judgemental.
