If Ferris Bueller can have a day off, why not Cosmo?

Today is the #1 call in sick day. Couldn’t have anything to do with parties and that game.

I used to take my birthdays off, a matter of principle. One year, the general manager called my department in for an emergency meeting which I couldn’t miss. As the meeting ended, I got a “sick” look on my face, said I needed to go home. I never thought I was that good of an actor but another person in my department told me the next day that he was catching what I had.

I used to tell the people working for me not to take a “sick” day if they weren’t really sick, to save those for the real thing. If they needed a personal day, I could be understanding, so long as it wasn’t abused.

I’d take an occasional Mental Health Day myself.

I can count the number of times that I had to take a real sick day.

We had one awful supervisor at work. When she got injured and was off for 2 years, the number of employees on sick days dropped dramatically.

I’ll admit I’ve actually done this before making “the call”. :)

Cosmo really is sick. He’s sick of work!
