Seals have flippers; that’s all I’m gonna say.

I know this must have been mentioned before, but seals don’t have tails and most certainly don’t have feet! I’d need LOTS of mind-altering drugs to suspend my disbelief enough to accept these as seals. ;-)

I have never seen a baby seal with legs and a tail. Oh wait, is this supposed to prove that the Overboard comic doesn’t pretend to be a work of art?

Okay, WHY does Chip always call them BABY seals?! It’s like he thinks BABY was some sort of SPECIES, instead of a life-stage!

it is ALL about identity, and if Louie identifies as a baby seal, he IS a baby seal!

I take this as evidence that OVERBOARD is set about 22 million years in the past. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/phenomena/2009/04/22/puijila-the-walking-seal-a-beautiful-transitional-fossil/

Technically, seals also do not have ears. Sea Lions do have ears.

Hold it. Seals are pinnipeds. What gives with feet and neither a cetacean-like tail nor flippers?

Well, Mr. Dunham, I LOVE your strip, but I gotta say your baby seal looks more like Popeye’s Geep (little animule that went "geep-geep) than a seal.

I love Chip’s seals! Who cares what they have? It is art. Chip’s art.

    Good evening, Crew!

Maybe not the most realistic seal, but creative and vivid. I’d give it an award, myself!

    Good Evening, Crew.
